About Us
Our Beliefs
Hello, I am Sanakori (Indigenous Taino name).
Sanakori is a Cultural-Keeper and Behike of the Indigenous-Caribbean Tribal Nation, Arayeke Yukayek. He has served on various Indigenous-Caribbean communities and Native American non-profits for the past 25 years, which includes- Nacion Taina of the Greater Antilles; Maisiti Yukayeke Taino; Higuayagua; North Eastern Native American Association; Nitchen, Inc., and Coopdanza, Inc. I am the founder of the NYC Indigenous Mobile Library and traveling Cultural Center, the Shorakapok Earth Keepers/Earth Protectors programs, NYC Indigenous Day of Remembrance public ceremony at Columbus Circle, and TainoRadio.com. Enthusiastically, he has presented Indigenous Caribbean culture to Private/Public Schools, Churches, Indigenous Tribes/Nations, and various secular and non-profit organizations. He has collaborated with the Dyckman Farmhouse Museum in bringing Indigenous activities and presence. Additionally, Sanakori is a Taino dancer and Powwow Fancy Dancer and he currently collaborates with the IndoRican Multicultural Dance Project. Lastly, he is a NYS licensed Social Worker employed as a Psychotherapist for all ages at Boriken Neighborhood Health Center in East Harlem.
